So I was just checking out what Stillen was doing to the new V37 Skyline aka Q60 in official company terms, and I dropped to the floor in excited spasms of my body. Needless to say everyone was staring awkwardly... 8 l . However I do this Everytime I run into an exceptional performance focused skyline build, especially for the underrated V skyline series.

Here's what Stillen has done: https://blog.stillen.com/2017/11/sti...400-sema-2017/

Kyle Millen, CEO, says this is his favorite project car so far. Stillen is known to work closely on Nissan/Infiniti vehicles for the past 30 years.

The performance mods are impressive, and the overall aesthetic and atmosphere of the car, from the chrome red color to it's RS-R suspension mod, just gives you that driving simulator Gran Turismo reality fused with Need for Speed or Midnight Club attitude, look, and feel.

Sorry I wouldn't know why Nissan is not selling their latest skyline coupe in their own domestic market?? I think that's pretty weird if it's true.

Is it because the Q60 is being manufactured solely as a LHD vehicle? Maybe a RHD, Japan compatible model has not been announced yet.

They should, I would love to see what Japanese tuners do with this car, we have our own domestic tuners already modifying it, ie AMS, Z1, FAST INTENTIONS, and others.

Well I'm sure there are others who probably know more, but my guess is that Nissan is concentrating on international markets right now, since most sales for the g37 and G35 were in the USDM followed by Europe if I'm correct.

So most profit is in those markets, so they will concentrate there first and probably release a JDM model later. Which means JDM ones might be a little better as improvements are added as the model ages.

That's just my guess. And it looks like the bulletproof vq powered G37 is starting to be phased out finally. That's a solid 7 year run for the naturally aspirated V36 Skyline.

Yeah it's being manufactured in the Tochigi factory, same place where the Z and GT-R are built.

Well Japanese tuners already screwed the v35 and V36 Skylines, aftermarket modification via the everyday customer was what got those cars the builds they deserved.

I hope they don't give a lackluster repeat performance for this gen as well. Hopefully they can receive special ly designated models from Nissan, like AMS has.

I don't beleive this!! This is awesome!! someone tuned a Q60/V37 to run an impressive 11.06 seconds 1/4 mile run with trap speed at 124 mph!!!

It's not known if this was a base Silver Sport or Red Sport!! That Nissan factory VR twin turbo means SERIOUS business.

from video description: "2017 Q60 RWD vr30 twin turbo tuned w/ Ecutek, inland speed & customs intake and exhaust work."

Dang those taillights look even better at that speed.

Here's a stock Red Sport V37 Skyline GT-R Vs. a GT500 Shelby Mustang, mods or stock is unknown.

video description: "Stock Infiniti races Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Both cars run exact speed of 112.28mph. Infiniti ET is 12.99."

I just wanted to hit up a huge Congratulations to the Civic Type R crowd, their car has finally made it to the North American market in it's latest model release by Honda.

It is the first time fans of the Type R Civic can actually purchase and own one in the US. Unfortunately I've heard that dealers are even marking them up above MSRP due to demand, which is just awful. But if there is a demand, that's economics.

It's said to do very well around a track although being FF and FWD, beating out even an AWD Subaru STI and a few others.

Don't believe me? Here's the video:

https://youtu.be/xiKWUL4iEGQ

The Type R is successful likely because it's got the basics done right, it's lightweight and has good HP and TQ thanks to Honda variable valve timing technology popularly known as V-TECH, and a single turbo charger mated to the 4 cylinder engine.

The Type R stays true to the enthusiast and comes in a manual transmission, something Infiniti is very unfortunately sidelining due to their excessive focus on trying to make autonomous cars.

However, because the type R has its basics down, a FF FWD is even outclassing an AWD vehicle with identical powertrain outputs.

It could be the weight as it is 300 lbs lighter than the Subaru STI. It's suspension engineering may also be better allowing better turn ins on corners, faster exits, and therefore a better time.

This is something that Infiniti should keep in mind for the Project Black S coupe.

The Dealership markups on the 2017 Type R is absolutely insane. Total abuse of retailer authority here in the USDM Honda dealerships.

A very interesting, must listen, purchasing experience with a Type R Enthusiast. The interaction with various salesman and General Managers and their suspicious dealings with the customer all in a bid to maximize profits during the Civic Type R frenzy.

Charging well beyond Honda's MSRP for the vehicle and even breaking signed agreements with customers for the original cost of the vehicle.
