Cool Representing New Mexico

Hello friends!

Representing Southern New Mexico. Been a lurker on the site off and on for a while, but sadly I'm creating an account to ask for advice for an issue I'm having. Happy to be part of the community and look forward to learning and participating more with everyone.

June 2017, first evening back in town with the new baby. Cat tax included.

You take that back! Oh wait, you're saying something nice about the state. That's new, I don't know how to react. :P

Red River was a nice ski town. The bridge over the Rio Grande at Taos is awesome. I'd like to visit White Sands and the Trinity site. Las Cruces is a good overnight point when driving from Houston to L.A. The view from I-40 was pretty.

Welcome to the site, living in Roswell myself, so not that great around here, lol. Love the area around Taos and the 4 corners, rest of the state not so much. Good Mexican food in Las Cruces though

What problems are you having w/ your G KCCO?

Here's what the quote from the dealership says:
-New under cover
-New driver front fender liner
-Oil rack, rack/pinion, and oil cooler all leaking

They're trying to charge close to $2,000 for parts. I've already found an under cover and fender liner for dirt cheap I can get. I don't know how much the rest of the stuff costs to replace though. I'm also skeptical about the leaks overall. I had a full service oil change from an otherwise reputable place and they didn't bring any of this to my attention. Need to seek a third opinion about it. I'll start a tech thread about it all though. Keep an eye out.

See if you can get it in the air and take the splash off to visually inspect it yourself with a trusted mechanic.

Just got back from my mom's house. I was talking with her boyfriend who says he can borrow a low profile jack and we can get under it and start looking. The under cover and the fender liner are the least of the problems though. I'm interested in seeing just how severe these various leaks supposedly are. Those look like they can cost a pretty penny, even when not being overcharged by the dealer.

You have to remove the splash shield to see the leaking stuff, so...

Right. I meant repairing or replacing the cover and liner aren't the main concerns since they can be addressed very easily and relatively cheaply.
