My first G

So I got my first G and its a 2011 G37 IPL and was looking at Top Speed Pro 1 Axle back exhaust. Before I purchase it i wanted to make sure if it was legal in CA? Like does it pass the CARB Law and if it has a EO number. If it is not legal then I was also looking at that Tanabe Medalion Touring Exhaust. I'm new to all of this car aftermarket stuff, so if you guys have any other suggestions on Axle Back exhaust let me know. I'm willing to spend up to $700.

....pics or it didn't happen....

Axle backs only influence the sound produced, they don't affect the function of emissions control at all if that's what you're worried about. Not a resident of CA but I'd say you're good to go.

Welcome to the site, wish I could help w/ the CARB stuff but being in New Mexico we don't have any of that to worry about. The Tanabe will have better quality finish but the Top Speed looks nice & for the price it's a good option. I have the Sedan Y-back from Top Speed and it's held up well for about 6 years now.

G/L w/ all your California smog issues.

See and thats where I get stuck, do I want the bang for my buck or quality?

Thanks, thats what I get for living in a green state and it doesn't help with all of these tec companies over populating CA.

Tanabe look great and like newt mentioned, they're top notch. Buyer's remorse sets in if you have your set set on a louder system...These are barely a hair above stock levels.

yeah I know what you mean, when I first looked at it was "ehh" like with the gray IPL's they have the black interior with red stitching but you kind of get used to the red the more you drive it.

Nice! i got the gray with red interior. I wanted the black with red stitching but I took what they had and I'm loving it now. Congrats!
