Drove Mustangs for many years but always knew I wanted a G37. Picked up a VERY nice 2013 Journey 4-door with 24,000 miles Monday. Local owner, always serviced at the Infiniti dealer.

Black/black, auto, great performance and handling! Glad to be here.

Hadn't decided on mods, thought I would drive it and see what I thought. I modded the heck out of my Mustangs, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse :-(
Def. 18" wheels when time for tires. Haven't found references to canned tunes yet, but if available I would certainly do that.

19" wheels look best on these, especially if you aren't planning on lowering.

Tuning will net you very little extra power, even with bolt-ons. The only real reason to tune is for better auto shifting (if you have an auto, that is). This means you'll have to do a custom ecutek or uprev tune - no one-size-fits-all bs here.

Look through others' build threads to get some ideas. If you like to drive the twisties, a set of sway bars is one of the best mods for the money. Removing intake resonators will make it sound mean without being too loud. Throw some LEDs in it, check out tail-as-turn, etc.

I am impressed with the auto shifting the way it is. That was a major reason to tune the Mustang, not needed with this.

All my track experience is road course, so handling is important. I can see sway bars, for sure.

18s FTW, at least on a sedan, coupes 19s, and lowered 19s or 20s look just fine.

j/k I'm on 18s now after running 20s, like the 18s better and I'm lowered too :)

^LOL!! I was going off others' comments on that one, really. Guess 18s are a way to go. :D

@Pete if this auto shifting is impressive compared to the stangs, I cannot even imagine how awful that was. Whoa! This auto is laggy and can be extremely annoying. Shifters work well when trying to have some fun though.

The Mustang tranny was a real dog. More Power Tuning did a great job of curing that with rev matching, crisp shifts, etc. My "new" G37 holds upshifts just right, downshifts when it should, and is crisp without being harsh.

As to wheels, I had 19s on Mustang and hated the limited variety of tires available (not to mention the cost!). 18s for me.

I honestly never heard of anyone calling the stock g37 auto "crisp" before. haha. I'm glad you like it though.
And while I agree with 19 (over 18) tires being more expensive (generally only about 25%), the variety is no longer an issue. Plenty of vehicles come with 19s and 20s stock these days. The right set of 19s will look soooo much better though. :) And you can always keep the stock ones for the snow / salt (basing off the general foliage in your background).
