Keepin' it G ain't nuthin' (new guy)
Greetings
New guy from Chicagoland. Definitely grew up liking cars, just don't know really any of the technical aspects, under the hood and such. I came here for help on mods for the most part, I have a stock '10 X Coupe, and while my knowledge on mods is minimal, and I would have no idea how to install anything off the top of my head, this are things I've considered, on a very small (<$1000) budget: CAI > K&N typhoon or Stillen gen 3? Or other? Air filter > K&N? Strut brace? As you can see, I have not a clue whether I want power or handling upgrades, just would like something to start with. Although I have yet to search the forum yet, if you have any input on the above or any other info for noobs, let me know. I would appreciate it. Gotta start somewhere I supoose Thanks guys. |

Here's a couple intro threads that should help~ https://www.myg37.com/forums/newbie-...read-this.html https://www.myg37.com/forums/newbie-...rformance.html As far as intakes, I'd look at the Takeda Attack Cold Air Intake, nice looking setup and less than the Gen 3, easier to install too. It comes w/ a large dry filter. Enjoy the site & your G! |
Welcome, I am also from the Chicagoland area. You can buy both a Takeda CAI and a strut bar for less than $1,000. If handling is on your mind though, I'd recommend sway bars first. They make a night and day difference.
Also, if you are interested in unleashing some additional VQ noise, the Infiniti Sport Accessory muffler is a nice addition without breaking the bank. Here is a clip of that muffler on my car (click on the photo to play): http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...psgc1wip5q.mp4 Enjoy! |
Check the classifieds. Crazy deals in there and a good network to help answer questions. Do some research, i'm sure everything has been answered previously.

And yep, those classifieds can be a great source. |
Thanks to all who responded, glad to be here.
Definitely will check out classifieds and hopefully not piss off too many veterans here. *vomits when bears are referenced as football team* |
