New to the G scene

Hey guys, I picked up a 2012 G37x coupe a couple weeks ago and the forums have been a lot of help already. Just wanted to say hi and I hope to contribute soon!

Congrats on that clean coupe Neal, welcome to the site, any plans for that one?

Thanks! The first thing I did was get it tinted and worked a spoiler into the deal with the dealership. Replaced all interior lights with LEDs and bought some aftermarket aluminum pedals, per suggestions here. I definitely want to get an automatic starter before the cold winters hit and maybe some winter tires (worth he investment??). I've also been looking into a sub box for the tiny trunk but their either hard to find (for the inside corner) or super expensive. Eventually I'll look into some performance upgrades like sway bars and air filters, nothing too crazy, but that's down the road.

Finally ponied up for the Lifetime Premier Membership and was looking back at old posts and man a lot has changed. Added Eibach springs (thinking about coils), Stillen Gen3, Z1 HFC, Mirror turn signals, Michelin PSS, Blizzaks and remote starter for the winter, SPC camber arms, Carsmo Knobs, Alpine sub and amp, Diode Dymanics 6000k headlights, LED fogs, and tail as turn. Next is sway bars and exhaust then tune!

Initially I wasn't planning on doing much but the mod bug hit me hard this year. You guys are a bad influence! :BOUNCE:

Nice updates Neal, a lot has changed in almost 3 years :)
What exhaust are you planning on?

That's where I'm struggling. I think I've narrowed it down to the Stillen/Ark/FI. The Stillen produces the most hp and it costs less but I'm not sure about the looks as the tips just seem off. They are smaller (4in tips whereas the others are 4.5in) and stick out a bit. Also, the sound seems a bit muted but I haven't heard it in person. The Ark sounds great and I like the look of the polished tips but it's more expensive and I'm worried about scraping as it sits low from what I've seen/heard. The FI looks and sounds good but I'm almost worried it'll be too loud with HFCs even with the 18" resonators. The lead time and cost are also a bummer.

Picked up a used Stillen CBE from a guy off eBay. Sounds better than I expected and the tips don't stick out as much as I thought they would. Next up is a tune!

Nice find! Tune should make a nice boost and smooth things out a bit, seems to make a nice difference w/ the 7AT as well, look forward to your impressions.

What are your thoughts on Uprev vs Ecutek? I've read that you can squeeze out a little more power with Ecutek but when I asked my local tuner he said they're the same except that Ecutek has more options for manuals. If that's the case then I'll stick with Uprev and save some $$.

Wish I could help with that, there seems to be good cases to be made for both and when cost is a factor that would tilt toward Uprev. I'd check the tune folder for better feedback~
