Another new guy
Hello fellow G drivers,
Just joined and wanted to say hi. Ordered my 09 Athens Blue G37x coupe the other day. Apparently that's a somewhat rare colour and they're having a hard time locating one for me. Hopefully they'll be able to find one for me soon.
Cheers!

It's nice that everyone here is so friendly!! Well, for now no mods as this is a lease, but also because I want to save up some money. I may be getting my hands on a GTR in a couple of years, and as we all know, they don't come cheap!
The 09 coupes just arrived in dealerships last Tuesday (this is in canada of course), and I went to test drive one within 48 hours. I pretty much knew I wanted it the coupe, so really, there wasn't much to test. Just to make sure that all the reviews I've read were real. It drove great, and I said yes that night. The dealer gave me 1800 off, which I thought was pretty good considering that one of the other canadian members here had to dish out MSRP because this is a new and in demand car. I was soooo nervous driving the thing, and plus it was in a city that I wasn't familliar with. The dealer would be like "turn left" and I'd react "which left?".... The demo car had 19km on it, so I was either the first or second one to test drive it. It still had plastic covering stuff outside and inside the car. The acceleration was really smooth, so much so that it felt actually a bit less forceful than my current G35. With my current car, when you just start off, it doesn't seem very powerful, but after you hit 3000rpm or so, it really blasts off. Whereas, with the G37, it's just very smooth all around. That thing sticks to the pavement like crazy. The dealer took me around and encouraged me to throw it around in the corners, and I did some stuff there that I don't think I could've with my current G. Very smooth, very low noise levels in the cabin, which was great. Only issue I had was the small rear window which made doing shoulder checks somewhat difficult, but I suppose that's something I'll have to get used to. But overall, yeah very excited. Great looks, great feel, and I honestly don't mind the 5 double spoke wheels. Too bad we don't have as many options here in canada though. I know in the states, you have the option of getting the 7 spoke 18" rims. But the upside is that my dealership is also one of 20 in canada that sells the GTR, so my car is getting N2 in the tires (for free) before I take delivery. Also not a big fan of the chrome lip, but hopefully it will grow on me lol.
Anyway, great to be here guys. I'll keep everyone updated.

Yeah seriously, my salesman was trying to locate one for me, and he says that the only Athens Blue G37x coupe was in BC (which is like 4000km away on the other side of canada). He's going to call me on Monday to see if they can secure it and ship it over for me. He actually told me that Plasma Red was rarer, but I dunno....I've only ever seen one Athens Blue ever in real life.
Anyway, I love the blue colour. It looks glittering during the day, but at dusk or low light levels, it's a rich blue and sleek in the dark. It reminds me of the original "skyline blue" colour. On the GT-R forum, there was a guy who said that there was a blue R35 GTR running around town in Japan. Man, why did Nissan not make that colour an option??!?!?!? The other cool colour is the orange Zele GTR.

Thx da mayor.
Yeah, I only wanted the base G37x coupe too, no options, because I really just want the AWD for the winter and the 330 ponies. All the hospitals I work at are like 5-15min away, and even on my current G there are buttons I pretty much never use. So although the options are nice, I think I'd (personally) probably not find much use for them after the initial "cool phase" wore off after like a week. The base G37x has plenty of stuff that I'm happy with.
Sooo, out of those 30, there are few which will have my specifications. And of those 30, probably only a couple are in Canada! Man, I really hope I get some good news on monday. I need this car by mid december as my current lease runs out at that point and I don't want to buy the car (the residual is way >> compared to the true market value for my 04 G35x). I would settle for another colour if I had no other option, but I would prefer the AB like 100x more. I've had my eye on this colour since I started considering the G37.
