Infiniti of Chantilly does it again...

Well many of you know I have been posting trying to find out which fuse controls the passenger side cig lighter as my xenarc screen and Gtech meter plugged into that socket went out. This indicated a short as both the screen (which is hardwired) as well as the Gtech which is not went out. I knew it was a short b/c the Gtech became loose in the socket and went on/off like 3-4 times then just went out (kinda like turning a light switch off/on 3-4x..bulb can burn). Anyways we all know how helpful the web and g35driver.com can be when it comes to stubborn problems like this. Well I had just about given up all hope...went through service manuals, internet searches and manually searching through my entire cars interior through all the fuse boxes inside/out to find the fuse for the passenger side cig. lighter. I found the drivers side...but passenger side was MIA.

Well after days of my dash being apart waiting to see if anyone would respond I had given up and decided to send Infiniti of Chantilly an Email (specifically Ryan Meyers in Service.). I basically explained to him what I just explained above and asked if he could simply tell me if he or a service tech knows of the fuses location. IN about 2 minutes he REPLIED with its LOCATION and it was DEAD ON!! Switched the 15A fuse with the spare in the fuse box under the drivers side kick panel area and POOF!! I told Ryan if this worked I'd owe him a 12 pack...Im going to have to go over and buy both Gary and Ryan 12 packs...Thats some great customer service if you ask me.....im completely impressed by their service fellas. I used to change my own oil and do most of my own service....but with the kind of service Chantilly is giving, I truly dont mind paying an extra $20-30 to have them do the same work for me. Again I would like to thank Infiniti of Chantilly and Ryan in Service for excellent customer service....I truly appreciate it....:)

ionno if any of you guys have had this problem but last week my car started to make a rattle or some type of sound like that, it doesn't do it at all times just whenever it wants and it sounds like it's coming from the back of my car. Can any of you guys tell what the problem is?

rear axle ticking?
if you hear the ticking. i have it too and it barely happens...

take it to IOC if its serious...they are nice people :)

There is a service bulletin out on the the "clicking rear axel" issue. If it becomes a problem, go in and they should take care of it under warranty.

yeah its covered all it is is tightening the some of the rear axle bolts

He said rattle, i dont think he means the clicking noise from your rear axle that the G's have a TSB on. g6g35, is it something rattling or more of a clicking sound? can you clarify that for us? and does it only happen when you stop and step on the accelerator or switch gears?

so ya'll just tighten it? .. i thought you guys were supposed to replace the bolts!

infiniticoupe35 10-28-2005 08:24 AM

99% of the time they only need to be tighten b/c they are not torque to yield bolts. the only reason they would need replacement is if they were damaged in some fashion

arjunz 10-28-2005 08:57 AM

from what i hear, every infiniti dealership has recieved new bolts to replace our old bolts with. Correct me if i am wrong, if you just tighten, re-oil, etc. the clicking would eventually come back, its just a matter of time...

infiniticoupe35 10-28-2005 10:09 AM

its a matter of the bolts not being torqued prpoperly from the factory, there is nothing wrong with the bolts. its true i do stock them if the original ones were damaged but since i've been here i've only sold maybe 3 sets.
