I am going in for a 7500 mile service soon...some questions

I am due for my 7500 mile service at Infiniti at the end of the month and was wondering if any of you got the full service package or just requested an oil change. I have read on the boards that the service can cost anywhere from $150-$220. Is the actual service really necessary? I was thinking of just getting a regular oil change and inspect all the fluids/tire pressure and minor things myself. I go to Passport Infiniti in Alexandria for my service..

What did you guys opt to do?
How much did you pay?
Advice?

I had them do an oil change and then dismount and rotate the tires... the latter is up to you...

x's 2. Did the later myself. Just had them do Oil and rotate the tires. But ultimately, its your car. Do what you feel comfortable with.............

Which model car do you have and where did they rotate the tires to? For the coupes, aren't the tires different sizes for the front and rears thus you can't do an X rotation pattern.

I have a coupe - to rotate the staggered and directional tires, they can dismount all the tires and swap left to right; but not front to back... it helps a little, particularly if you've got a lot of camber... the inner edges are now on the outside... its a pricey operation though, so consider the cost of new tires when determining whether to do it...

hmm i didnt waste my time w/ that service..nor the 15k...i saw the check list of 'things to do' and more than half involved 'topping off fluids' and an oil change...only important thing seemed the tire rotation..but im not lowered so F it!! Waste of $$ IMHO!!

The 15K service is great. $90 for an in-cabin air filter change!! Took me all of 2 minutes to swap out myself and bought one at Autozone for $12 i think.

The 7500 and 15k service is basically an expensive oil change... and a lot of checks of stuff that shouldn't have any issues. If you have some other problems that you want the dealer to fix under warranty, then do it and they'll give ya a loaner.

The in-cabin air filter take <10min to do yourself and it's really easy. I went to Nissan (no Infiniti near my house) and just bought it for $30. It's your car, and if you're comfortable checking out your own car... save your money for mods!

7500miles... not worth it.
15k... still not worth it and just change the in-cabin filter yourself.

I just got my 7500 miles service done yesterday! and I was so blind that I didn't see the total amount on the bottom left hand page so I just signed the paper. I was exteremly surprised that it came out $237.06 for the service! but I was requesting an oil change only but the service advisor just pretty much forced me to pay the 7500 miles service. Can I always just request an oil change ONLY in the future?
