VIS AMS Style Hood

Who here runs the VIS AMS style hood on your G coupes and if so do you use hood pins or stock latches?

I have that hood and no latches. Been running it for almost a year now. I go to mexico all the time and no problems.

Wow, yours sits amazingly flush compared to most I've seen! I've noticed that mine seems to have come with spots for stock latches to sit. Did you have to do any modifications for it to sit so well?

Hmm not really, I just removed the old one and put this one on. Just make sure to have someone else hold the other side so it screws down evenly.

Are you running your washer fluid lines on it too by any chance? I’ve got the hood on now so that’s my next issue.

That small gap was not there when new, I think it started bowing after I was going around 135mph. I will try to raise the top bumper lip to minimize gap.

If you remove the spring for the hood latch the gap goes away. Or possibly find a different spring.
