Carbon Fiber brake fluid/battery compartment covers

Has anyone else seen these? What do you think of the design that has the opening for the lettering on top? Anyone have them yet? The price of $88 shipped has me very intrigued...

hm..might be pretty neat if you painted the lettering to match the theme of your car/engine bay.

I hadn't thought of that woady, but that's a pretty good idea. Mine is black of course, so no extra work would be necessary, but for color scheme people that might really stand out.

The lettering or the covers themselves? The covers already look glossy to me...

Now the battery/brake fluid covers is another story. I could not get them to sit totally flush. The first one I did not line up the front edge pefectly with the cover so it hung over a couple mm and would not lie in there so I had to take the blow dryer to it to remove it and redo that one, I thought that would take care of it but it did not. Then I did the second one and was very careful to line it up right and still wont sit flush when I snap the covers down.

I am considering taking my Dremmel to it to shave the edges down thinking that may help but I dont know if that will mess them up.

My bad... I do like the idea of painting the raised letters inside the cutout part. I was going to paint the raised letters on Her car but she hasn't picked a color yet.

They both look like they're dry carbon overlays, which is made of real CF, just at thin piece overlayed on top of the cover as opposed to fabricating a mold to create the entire piece out of CF.

I'd say do it!
