best exhaust upgrade?
 

Im looking for advice on new exhaust system for the G37. Im look for performance (HP gain) and of course, an improved "bark" when accelerating. Honestly, the "rattle" issue with stock system(which I've taken to dealership 3X only to have an "upgraded manifold which resulted in little-no improvement) convinced me to give in and upgrade to aftermarket. I know cat-backs have gained praise, but want to know what you guys think. Money isnt necessarily an issue/concern, but I do want most bang for the buck.

Also, I live in Atl, so if anyone knows of a good, reputable aftermarket retailer/shop to purchase from and have installed, please let me know.

Fast Intentions Carbon Fiber all the way man. I have the system and its just unbelievable. From looks to sound to power, I love it. Alot of the systems out are putting down good numbers anywhere from 10-15whp, with Borla independantly dynoed at 18 or 19. I set off car alarms on a daily basis, so if you cant handle minimal drone or just being dumb loud the FI CF system isnt for you. But then again I have HFC's. Look into HKS as well.

Borla has shown better gains then the FI Cat Back. To me, Borla wins hands down. Pair it up with some Berk HFC's and you will feel significant gains.

how much drone does the borla have?

careful with the hfc, some people have had nightmares with it

i have the borla and am very satisfied with it... a lot of people have praised FI but in the end get what you like, listen to sound clips and research it to death :D

What about the Greddy Ti C? Does it sound good? and does it give good gains?

There is a bit of drone right at 2000rpm, but most of the time it's fine as I am residing typically between 2200-3000rpm.

i usually have the music up pretty loud when i'm highway cruising, so i don't even hear the drone

Borla has the best gains... Fast intentions is also a great exhaust.... you cant go wrong with either one of them... i went with the borla and berk HFCs i couldnt be happier

I have had Stillen, Borla, and FI CF... and I love the sound of the Fast Intentions over all....

Hey Mr. totheG37, does the borla and FI exhaust have similar drone? What's your opinion on the differences between the two specifically with drone?

FI CF drones at 1800 rpm pretty good. Other than that its a sexy growl, with NO rasp whatsoever.

cool so the Fi and borla drone is only at the low rpm range not noticeable at hwy speeds?

When you are cruising on the highway at 3000rpm it's hardly noticeable over the stock setup. But when you romp on it, it gets your blood pumping.

Greddy sounds better than all those, and cost half, some people like to pay 8000 dollars for exhaust
