T-Harness? For the illuminated kickplates? Sorry, no. That was given away years ago.

Checking if you still have that T-Harness

It is not a fatal mistake but it just adds more work. You will either have to de-pin the 12-slot connector and splice that onto your FX 8-slot or find a used 8-slot harness. I found one on eBay which might work. If it were me, I would buy that piece and swap the Q60 switches over to that harness. That should make the switches plug-and-play (as long as the clock spring pathways match). Then, de-pin the needed wires from the 12-slot for the paddles and whatever else you might need.

The above will be much easier, and cheaper, than trying to find a Q60RS wheel with the 8-slot. These fall into the "gray area" of mid-production facelift cycles.

The G37 only used the 8-pin regardless of package. Judging from the sound of things, your FX is on the same level as the G.

    Hope that makes sense!

Indeed my (Q60) wheel has the 12 pin M302, amd the FX uses the 8 pin, is this a fatal mistake on my part? Will i absolutely have to source an 8 pin variant of the Q60 wheel?

i would have assumed your Tech package wheel also had the 12 pin connector?
    Is that not the case?

If not, do let me know which year / trim got the various tech, heated wheel, and paddles options with the 8 pin connector

this has all been very helpful, i will try and piece together a diagram from the FSM’s much the same

You will have to piece together the wiring for the clock spring (herein "C/S") from different sections (INL, AV, SRC, STC, PG, etc.) of the FSM. There is no one breakdown specifically for the C/S. I just made my own diagram which broke down each wire/ color/ signal.

Your Q60 wheel should have one connector for the switches which gets plugged into the C/S. Either a 8-pin (gray (M301)) OR a 12-pin (white (M302)). I am guessing 12-pin. On the G37, everything went through the 8-pin. The three extra wires for paddles I had to wire into the unused slot of the (M37) C/S.

The biggest key to this whole swap is to make sure everything on the WHEEL side of the C/S, matches, the BODY side of the C/S. If you will be using the Q60 C/S you will have to make sure the input and output circuit paths are the same. In other words, you might have to re-pin the BODY side of the C/S if they do not match the WHEEL side pins. Are you sure the FX C/S won't work?

    Hope this makes sense/ helps...

I'm at the stage of having the Q60 wheel, clock spring, and the donor pieces came with the connectors and portions of the wiring harnesses, the only part i'm getting hung up on, is finding the correct wiring diagrams in nicoclub, i found the FSM's, which section does the clock spring fall under, if you don't mind my asking, i'm fairly confident on the wiring side of things, just currently having a hard time finding what i need to even start splicing things together.

I am curious as to how you went about dealing with the switches in the new wheel, the FX50 has 4 wires to each set of switches, yet the Q60 has around 10 going to one, and a couple less going to the other, was the G37 similar in this regard?

And i am very aware this risk is all on me, you're just the only other person i can find evidence of doing this swap (granted, not identical vehicles, but very close none the less)

This is not a simple, plug-and-play, swap. This project assumes you know how to read/ understand wiring schematics and have experience working on wiring. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, DON'T DO IT.

You will have to pull the factory manual for your car and for the donor to compare wiring, connectors, and signal values. You can get the manual from nicoclub.com As you stated you have the tech package, so there may be some conflict there. Being a FX, you may be more compatible with other models rather than the Q60. Research.

Parts are easy: wheel, airbag, SRS clock spring*, relay & switch (for heater), and various connectors/ spare wiring to tie everything together. *You must source a clock spring that has the heated wheel wires built-in as well as the 3-pin unused slot.

This will get you started. Again, YOU ASSUME ALL RISK FOR ANY MODIFICATIONS YOU DO TO YOUR VEHICLE.

Hi, i'm attempting to swap in an 2017 RS Q60 wheel (tech, paddles, heated wheel) into a fully loaded 2013 FX50, i have seen your write ups regarding your G37 and swapping in the same spec wheel, and the FX50 appears to use the same setup as the G37, would you mind running me through what all you went through to get the fully loaded Q60 wheel functional in your G37?

IF the fans do not come on at low (50%) speed, then either the IPDM is not sending the correct signal or the fan motors are failing. In some cases the fan control module can go bad but if the issue persists after you replace the fan control module then you have to look at the IPDM or the fan motors.
