Gaskets required for catalytic converter replacement
My driver's side cat has been rattling for years now and it has annoyed me to the point of replacement. I have the new part and have started to soak the bolts in penetrating oil.
What I can't figure out is which gaskets I need. I see these and it makes sense. https://www.maperformance.com/produc...BoCaFUQAvD_BwE https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/08...g?v=1557345506 The infiniti parts catalog shows something different for exhaust manifold to converter gasket - it looks like a ring vs a flange type gasket (triangle above) https://www.infinitipartscheap.com/i...ze/3846640.png What's the right gasket? Is the ring one for OEM only? Car is an '09 XS sedan AWD. Thanks, Brian |
Ring is for OEM only. The triangle gasket goes with aftermarket cats or test pipes.

Just an update on this. Ended up needing the small ring. Used a pacesetter OEM style catalytic converter from Rock Auto. Bought one at advance auto for $5,
