catalytic converters OEM quality

First post here. Owned a 300zx TT JWT car back in early 90s and have been in Corvette/Camaro land since then on the LS platform. Missed the way the Z drove and looked at a 350z and ended up getting a 2+2 2015 q60s because of kids. Really bought one of these on a whim to have a coupe with stick again and really enjoy it, and it's not my daily. Feel like if the camaro grew up, this is what it should be.

Anyway... Q60s coupe has test pipes on it from a PO. Dealer I bought the car from refuses to do anything about it (and apparently, yes they can sell you a car without catalytic converters in Illinois, it's up to you the owner to figure it out). Anyway, past all that and gave them a bad review via BBB so I've moved on .

From an OEM perspective, i see new ones are 800/each.

In illinois we test OBD2 only and I do want CATS regardless, can't stand the smell. So, any recommendations besides OEM that will not set a CEL? I researched the Z1 HFC, but seems like they will set a CEL, and I don't want that headache. Concept Z, has this one https://conceptzperformance.com/invi...cb_p_13454.php for about 600ish.

Any other recommendations or products people have tried?

Welcome to the site. Post edited to remove WTB/WTT part.

Most after market ones that avoid CELs ususally use some type of extension on the sensors and lots of people are ok with them but it can be hit or miss.

safest bet for Insepcitons/avoiding CELs is OEM cats.

OEm cats from any G37 sedan or coupe or 370z are all interchangable IIRC and people are always selling them used when upgradign to test pipes/HFCs etc.

People post OEM Cats for sale here in the classified pretty frequently, a set is usually between 100-250. You can also probably look on your local craigslist and 370z forums

Should be good setup. One piece of advice since they don't have the J bung and you do get a cel you can order vibrant brand j bongs or on Amazon or Ebay and install those to get rid of the cel. Report back!

They are the shorter bungs. The J shape ones are long and most definitely get rid of the cel. The short ones may or may not keep it off. Since berks are 200 cpsi vs z1motorsports 100 cpsi I'm thinking your good. Although some cars are more sensitive you'll have options should you get a cel.
