Takeda retain intake?

Takeda retain intake?
Does anyone have this exhaust or know much about it? I just got my 08 sport coupe a couple weeks ago and trying to decide on an intake. Also is it better to muffler delete or resonator delete if you were to do one of them?

Basically was just trying to get some opinions on it. I've seen claims of performance gains from short ram, this being one of the main one's. Also why keep the resonator?

Short tube intakes like the retain increase engine noise, but they also draw hot air from the engine compartment, so whether they create extra power in real world conditions is debatable. If you want a marginal boost in power and more noise, buy some long tube intakes.
It should be noted that the factory intakes also draws air from outside the engine compartment and are also quite efficient, so unless you really want extra growl, you'll get roughly as much performance from just getting better flowing panel filters (which is to say, not much).

I wish there were a way to keep the stock system but get more noise. That's really all I want; I'm satisfied with the power (and there are more gains to be had from the exhaust anyway)

Remove the intake resonators (those funky looking thinks hanging off the airbox) and cap the holes. That will get you some additional noise. If you're happy with the sound level, then just drop some nicer panel filters in and call it a day. Save your money for exhaust. I used the r2c hex panels. $100m, easy to clean, no oil.

People have actually seen gains with straight tubes and better drop in filters on the stock airbox. I know what my next mod is gonna be....
What can I cap the resonator holes off with?

I think Rochester removed his hood insulation and said it made a notable difference in intake noise.
You could honestly just cap the resonator holes with tape. Something waterproof of course.

I wouldn't bother with straight tubes as i doubt they have better airflow.
my 2013 actually doesn't have silencers and the holes where they would be have a cap on them. It appears it was this way from the factory. If anyone else with a 2013 can confirm.
