Question about Takeda CAI

So I have the Takeda Long Tube CAI. As many of you who also have them, know that the rubber tubing that goes through the air duct kind of has to be squeezed through to fit. I'm just curious as to how that would affect performance? Would there be a difference if the air ducts were cut to widen the tubing for better air flow or would that matter all?

I don't think would impact it that much, all tho when I replaced mine I enlarged the holes so they fit through and not squeezed,

Yeah from what I've seen being shaved off the support, its very minimal. Unless you were a total hp picky freak and need every last bit, its not worth it at all. The change in temperature of the dyno day would make more of a difference than the silicone fitting would.

I got a tune the other day. It was pretty hot out. Houston weather. I'm sure if I had done so during the winter it would've been much better. I bought some titanium heat wrap. I'll be installing those when they arrive. These VQ's emit so much heat it's ridiculous. And summer is around the corner. But yeah like I said, if I get bored I'll do it...eventually lol

Yeah you may have gotten higher numbers but the tune itself is probably just fine. What did you end up getting btw??

That's why I'm going with the Stillen over the Takeda.

2 reasons: The Stillen uses a separate filters for each intake. And You enlarge the holes for the intake piping.

Do both intakes perform almost identically in terms of performance? Probably. More than likely.

I still prefer the Stillen though.

U can still use separate filters for it. I'd rather not waste my time enlarging the ducts if it's just minimal power difference. There's a thread of someone here using Takeda intakes with two K&N filters. But if u wanna spend more time on it that's fine too. It didn't bother me much so I didn't touch the ducts. And on top of that the Takeda is cheaper by at least a Benjamin
