Takeda Splash Shield Install

I have a 2008 G37S coupe. I installed the Takeda CAI and the splash shield tonight. However, when I go to put the front bumper back on, it won't fit because the front grill is hitting the splash shield!!

Has anyone successfully installed the splash shield onto the car with a stock bumper before? I don't understand why they would create a shield that won't fit with the stock bumper.

Help!!!

You have a sedan and it didn't work either? I've read some members who said they installed it had sedans and I thought the front bumper was different so they were able to get it on?

Anyone else?

If I really can't get it to work I'm gonna get a refund cause that shield was an extra $50 bucks!!

I have mine on my sedan no problem. I think takeda changed the design of the intake and maybe that's why the newer versions are giving people a hard time.

I have a G37xS and therefore do have the sport bumper. I had to move the front intake tubes as far back as possible to get everything to finally fit. It took a lot of time to position everything.

I have a sport and it still doesn't fit.

I can't move the intake any further back because the pipes are attached to the h-bracket which prevents any adjustment to the back. Did you leave off the h-brackets?

Did you install the h-brackets as well? The h-brackets prevent any type of movement of the filter to the back so I don't understand how you were able to maneuver the intake to make the shield fit.

I put the splash shield on 08 G35x with the sports bumper it didn't fit so I just pushed the bumper in and tightened all the bolts and called it a day. took off the grille to double check the intakes and everything was still good.

I think what he means is that one of the h-brackets goes on part of the bar that curves a bit.

Note the left h-bracket is attached to part of the bar that's curved.

Thanks for the picture! That's exactly what I meant. Also, I installed the bracket from the intake tube BEHIND the H bracket to gain additional clearance. In the picture above the intake tube bracket is in front of the H bracket.
