K&N typhoon intake vs others???

Hey,
Im new to the forum i have a g37s coupe black. I was thinking about getting a new intake. I was thinking about getting the K&N intake. I was looking at the other intakes such as Stillen, Injen, Fujita, and others. The K&n intake supposably gives 14.2 hp while the others give about 20. I dont think this is going to give a substantial difference to my performance anyways. I plan to get other mods in the future. The other intakes will be about twice as much as the k&n also. The K&n is also short ram so itll be easier to install. The ultra long stillen requires dremeling. I dont want to get an intake just because everybody else has it or anything. What should i get? is the stillen really worth buying or am i deep down just buying a name and a little extra? Should i just get the k&n and then just get another mod with some of the extra money ill be saving?

Lots and lots of threads on here about intakes. Here is my best short answer:

SRI are really just for sound, much cheaper, and are very easy to instal. Some theory that R2C provides real gains, not sure I buy it yet. K&N is yet unproven. Intakes to me are really for the butt and ear dyno...and by saying that...you better bet I love them!

CAI have proven gains, but as you stated typically require some modification to various parts of the engine bay and bumper. They are also typically more expensive.

Which one is better? Which is worth it? IMO that is only within the eye of the beholder.

Thanks!! I knew this already I'm just confused about it..... I think im just gonna go with the k&n cus its less expensive and Itll still give me the sound that I want and although not proven to give any gain it's fine ill just mod it with something else with a little bit of saving. What should the next mod be? :P

K&N Typhoons sound sexy under full load, but they don't gain you the advertised 14HP. You'll get 10HP at best with the K&N and thats only after a tune. You'll achieve 2-3HP just bolting them on. I learned this lesson the hard way.
