Pretty easy for us to say from a youtube video. If he's happy more power to him. I think it looks nice and appreciate the videos demonstrating how it sounds.

They look very similar, especially the body. Welds toward the tips look a bit different though.

The IPL is a catback, this is an axle-back. None of these come stock except the IPL exhaust which obviously only comes on the IPL models.

So I drove a car with this exhaust on today.

I actually think it's perfect. It's got a nice deep aggressive sound when you step on it, and sounds pretty much stock (though there's a very slight difference) when cruising or accelerating slowly. When you step on it, it sounds like stock on steroids.

With the windows up, you really couldn't hear the stock exhaust on a 6MT--just engine and tranny. This gives you some audible notes to enjoy when the weather is crappy.

My dad got the tanabe knock-offs a few weeks ago and it's really too loud for him. Sounds awesome in tunnels and standing outside, but there's just too much boominess and drone in the car when cruising normally.

If I had to get anything to replace the stock muffler, it'd probably be this.

If it is just the regular G37 muffler with the oval tips, it isn't the "sport" muffler. All G37s besides IPL come stock with the same muffler.

And it can be bought for under 400 brand new. Just FYI.

Post in the classifieds if you want to sell it, but to be honest there isn't really a market for the stock mufflers.

- Much deeper & louder sound during acceleration
- Pop/Crackle sound when RPMs drop is a lot more pronounced
- Polished all-around
- Bigger tips
