Just cleaned out my Amsoil filters, to my surprise they were very clean. Practically no loose rocks or debris came off when shaking. No noticeable difference before and after cleaning (vacuum method).

Team Injen CAI, high five.

damn it. mine came with the relabeled k&n filters (injen). i'm guessing my kit's "old?" then again, also came with the blue hydroshield bags. hm...

sort of regretting the injens, but again i can't really complain. the increase in power's definitely there. i initially didn't feel much, but having been a few days since the install, the cars definitely gotten louder under load and tends to squirm more out of first. i wanted more top end whp (stillens), but oh well . that and the price i got these for were just...too good to pass up. for my reassurance: is there REALLY that much whp difference (i've heard about the ~16.5 whp someone got; i thought the average for the stillen was ~14 whp? or was it 18.5?)? the reason i got the injens - location of the filters, more r&d, more usable bump in hp/tq midrange/comparably power @ higher rpms, price. are the stillens really THAT strong(er) up top? poop.
here's on for the book - sorry, dark, cell phone picture

This doesnt sound right. The numbers that companies give are in fixed conditions . Either very cold weather or the car is dynoed cold start!

R2c doesn't fix anything. I've been to several of their dyno sessions for a few of their systems. Maxima/G/Mustang/Camaro. They dyno stock 3-5 runs, install theirs, then repeat. If they get bad numbers, back to the drawing board.

So if this R2c's fuel ratio is the same as stock, can't we just get an ECU tune with stock intake and get the same hp gains?

What you get with R2C is looks, sound, engine protection and easy maintainance. They're probably less restrictive then stock, but not as free flowing as cotton gauze. Put a better filter in the stock intake and get a tune and I'd bet you get real close. If you're playing with air intakes though you really should address the exhaust as well and then get a tune.
