Cruise control annoyance
I have a 2011 S sedan with an auto. For an example, I am on the highway cruising at 60 with cruise engaged. I enter a downhill part of the road and my car is coasting. When I reach the bottom my speed will drop to 57 or 58 before the throttle kicks in and raises the speed back to 60. My car does this all the time and it's so annoying that I don't use cc. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Get used to it- the CC is set to close any throttle opening on a downhill stretch to save fuel. Once it reaches the bottom of the hill, speed has to bleed off by 3-5% before the CC system kicks on the throttle again. It works consistently, and doesn't deviate much, so what's the problem?

Every car I have ever owned had cruise control (even my '75 Olds Toronado) and they all had a small differential that was barely noticeable- especially in hilly conditions. Some CC systems are more responsive/smoother than others but this behavior is completely normal.

Thanks for all the responses. I've owned many cars and usually swap them out every couple years. My last car was a '04 G35 6MT sedan, I loved that car and kept it for 5 years. I never noticed the cc acting like it does in this car, very disappointing.
