There may be threads that already have this answer, so please send me the link if so. If not, I recently had a lovely brain fart of leaving my keys at work when returning to my car only to realize I dont have a spare key. Does anyone know how easy it is to program a spare key to your car or do I have to go through Infiniti/a body shop? I'd like to just order off of amazon to save some money. I have a '13 G37xS if that makes any difference to the programming process.

Amazon has a Key FOB and programmer made by Dorman.
$100 or so for both.
I haven't tried it but I will soon.

I ordered 2 off eBay and had local keysmith program them. Don't remember the cost exactly. All locksmiths can't program the keys and there was a range of prices so call around.

Yea no can do on self programming these remotes, has to be done at infiniti. Not sure if its compatible but I have a mint keyfob left from my 08 g35xs I'd sell.

the Dorman fob and programmer are easy to use. I ve done two spare keys with that. You can do it less than 5 mins.

Also, you can cut the actual key at Home depot but not every home depot is willing to do it.

Not sure if you already got your spare key, but I bought mine from NorthCoastKeyless. They had it for $80 for my 09 G37, I took it to a local locksmith and he programmed it for $65 which is a steal compare to how much infiniti dealership will charge you.

I also need a spare key. Is it true, that one can only program 2 keys total per car? If so, maybe I will just order the Dorman set from Amazon.
