The V36 is Nissan's designation for the G37 platform.

V36= G37 Sedan
CV36, or CKV36= G37 Coupe

The dates refer to production start dates, ie. built after xx/2010.

The cabin air filter part number should be: 27277-VX00A

You will also see V36VHR. That's the G37 with the 3.7-liter V-6 with VVEL.

When looking for suspension stuff, remember that the 370Z (Z34) is the same as the V36 except for AWD cars.

The V36 doesn't have different names for different sedan trims and models, i.e. RWD, AWD, Sports??

There are more than enough. For example;

NV36= AWD;
PV36= 2007/2008 "pre-G37-" the G35 that looked like a G37 but had the VQ35HR engine rather than the VQ37VHR;
KV36= 2008-2010 sedan;

Then you have:
250GT/350GT/370GT
Type P= Technology Package;
Type S= Sport Package;
Type SP= Sport Premium (all bells and whistles);

Most of these designations are referenced within JDM circles and have no real bearing on USDM models.

V36 references the BODY of the car, therefore G37 and V36 are not interchangeable. For example, the G25 and the Q40 are/were considered a V36, even though they are technically a 250GT/VQ25HR. They look like a G37 but they sure do not perform like one.

Under the hood there is a data plate riveted to the passenger-side shock tower.

It will basically be a metal version of the driver-side door jamb data sticker. It will list your VIN along with paint/trim, engine, axle, and assembly plant codes.
