Car is a 2008 G37S Coupe that is new to me with 60k miles. I didnít notice any noise from the valve train when I bought it. Went through it changing all of the fluids. Used Valvoline 3-30W full synthetic oil. Noticed the noise about 2k miles into the oil change.

Iíll try a different oil on the next change. Keep us posted if you noise returns.

Thanks for the update!

My owner's manual specifies 5w-30. Are you in Canuckistan?

I am in the Pacific NW. I am going to switch oil brands and see how that goes. There are no performance issues, it just does not sound right. Itís not there when you first start it, but I can start to hear it after driving in traffic on a hot day.

I needed a good laugh. I don't think he noticed he typed 3-30w.

It's hard to tell from the video if it's a bad fuel damper or normal VVEL sound.

Since it seems to get louder as you move the camera toward the rear of the engine, I'm guessing it's normal VVEL sound.
