Car shutoff while driving yesterday. I got it started again and ran the codes when I got home and pulled a U1000 (CAN). A quick search of the forum revealed water may have gotten into my BCM. Today, I checked and found water under the passenger floorboard but no obvious source of the leak (I checked the sunroof and AC evaporator drain tubes). I dried everything up and checked all connections/grounds and now the “key” light comes on when I shift into R or D and goes back off in P & N. I’ve never seen this before. My question is: is this consistent with the bad BCM narrative and if so what all is required to 1. diagnose & fix the leak and 2. replace the BCM?
There's a grommet in the firewall behind blower motor. Check there. Replace and add silicone.
as for bcm hope it dries and returns to normal
I think by-passimg that stupid grommet and t-ing it into the condenser drain tube is the best way. Eliminate the issue (Grommet). I did it that way havent had the problem and its been a year already.
Blow out the drain line and let bcm and area dry as much as possible use a fan. Also once line is clear pour dilution of bleach and water or vinegar and water to kill mildew if there is any from leak

more than one way to skin a cat. Im in Seattle and did the straw method. Im not having any issues. Im going to check now to be certain.
I fixed mine yesterday in 15 minutes without any disassembly. I used a 44 inch piece of 1/4 inch steel cable with a plastic jacket. Chucked it into my Dewalt drill, inserted it into the drain hole at the Conner of the sunroof and pushed it in until it stopped. Ran the drill for about 4 minuted and it went through the plastic baffle. Now water flows freely out under the car.

I can be bold at times... but that's really bold. One thing's for sure -- that route is exponentially faster than the straw/papermate mod route.

help hey i have a 08 g37 one day i was driving it and it shotoff on me after i park i got the car townand the next day i try to turn the car on and and it wont turn on i found out it was my steering wheel lockmodule and i replace it my self and it turn everything on and it leaves my ac on but it wont turn my enging on it just stays on the on position & i found water under the carpet on the passenger close to the bcm can my bcm be damage or i just need to program my wheel lock module ????
