Anyone monitoring their oil pressure?

Just curious how many people have had the low oil pressure problem because of the timing chain gaskets failing. I currently have 90K on my 2008 and so far no issues, but I have been sending my oil off to Blackstone every oil change to be analyzed. I recently purchased the Harbor Freight oil pressure test kit. I intend to perform a oil pressure test before each oil change from now on. Has anyone else been monitoring their oil pressure regularly.

I know that Black Betty has had the seal problem and I'd l like to hear from others who have had the same experience.

It doesn't happen to every engine. There's a skewed sample on the forum as everyone who has ever had the issue jumps online to ask what's going on with their car.

Also, my oil pressure was only off by 2psi at 2000 rpm when i had the issue.

If your car goes into limp mode and throws a P0524 code along with p0021 or p0022, that's your indication.

Since my G is used for long trips, I may just bite the bullet and have the seals replaced. If mine failed, I'd probably be doing 80 mph and a thousand miles from home, when it happened.

no reason to jump the gun on it unless you feel like putting a few grand into your car for no reason.

When my car went into limp mode i scheduled an appointment, reset the ECU and drove carefully for another several days. it didn't go back into limp mode until the morning i had my appointment

Thanks Victory, you gave me some confidence that I can probably get to a repair shop to get the service done even if I'm away from home. And as you said it may never happen.

also, with your situation, you should totally have AAA.

Fortunately, I have the Roadside Assistance plan with my insurance. It will take me to the shop of my choice within 75 miles. Hopefully, there is a large enough Nissan network to meet any problems I should encounter.
