Need Help - Rattle during acceleration

How many miles do you have?
All high mileage nissans have this timing problem. Mine started at 70K now I'm at 130k. After it pings it will retard your timing and your idle will sit at 800-900 with power loss. This only happens if you feather the gas around 1-1,500 rpm while driving. If you give it moderate throttle it will not happen.
If you find a fix lmk but I gave up trying to fix the issue for a year.
If it happens when your parked its probably not a timing related issue.

I'm guessing something in the cat broke lose.
If it were knocking, you would be able to reproduce it under load conditions.
Also, how do you retard the timing on modern ECU based ignitions? Are they reflashing the igniton/air/fuel maps? Sounds like a hacked tune. Modern cars with knock sensors almost never ping. The ECU will retard the timing for you, which is why you can use lower octane gas then recommended (but performance will be limited on the top end).
If you sit there in park, with the engine running, then put it into drive while your foot is on the brake and tapping the gas, gently torqueing the motor - can you recreate the noise?
I ask because I have had a few bad cats in my time and this is exactly what I did to recreate the noise. When things come loose in the cat, you will thing your motor threw a rod. Sounds god awful, but is a pretty simple (sometimes pricey) fix.
---Update - sorry, it looks like you already figured this out----

its been an issue ive had for a while but never effected anything just an annoying sound at low RPMs usually in 4th or 5th gear especially on hills and just accelerating slowly from first. well i was driving home and something finally broke the camels back because ive lost basically all power. i had to limp it home. no codes or anything and i have aftermarket test pipes so not sure if its that. anyone have an answer??

no codes, it did not go into limp mode ive been there done that before lol. I think it actually may be a pcv vaccum leak after more research and now that it lost power from that im hearing that low rpm sound because of low output from engine, which could be leak. but not sure because it should throw a code for that but i have a tune on the car so im not sure if that bypasses codes

My 13 has this. I don't think its engine knock as it only happens occasionally when feathering the gas from a stop. If it was knock, i should be able to reproduce it putting the car in a higher gear and loading the engine. I can't make it happen. I also use top tier fuel and a fuel system cleaner every oil change. My year also doesn't have the TSB for the cats. If i had to guess, it's probably some stupid heat shield or cowling. Doesn't happen enough for me to hunt it down.

My '12 Xs had an issue like this for a while. It was always occurs when I accelerate from 0mph. Cats were checked out, no leaks and nothing loose. Yesterday I randomly ask the dealership to change out my driver belt (@135k). As soon as I took off, that noise went away, thought my hearing/mind was playing tricks with me, but I test it s few times with the different drive mode. Only noise I have now, is that POV(hissing) noise.

I swear to god it sounded like a rattle, and took forever to find the problem. So weird.

My rattling returned. But not as bad. Maybe I'll check one of the Cats (Fi), one cat had a loose piece inside, I'm assuming that was a resonator. This was discovered when I found some leaks.
