Who has the best gas? :)

I have been getting my premium gas from Exxon from day one. Is there any difference from Exxon compared to BP, Sunoco, Shell, Joe Shmo, etc..? Are they all the same as long as it is the same octane? If not, what is the difference? I have seen some of advertising some companies do but is it all bs?

Shell always seems to give me the best gas mileage.

I've always used Sunoco and have been pretty happy with it but recently I filled up with Shell and thought my mileage seemed a little better. It may just in my mind.

Most people tend to lean with Shell giving the best gas mileage. All gas is the same up until the point that they add the various additives. I don't think there is much question that she puts in either the most or best quality stuff into their gas. I'd just recommend going with any top tier gas as per the website posted. Generally speaking, Shell is a more expensive gas station, but I guess the old "you get what you pay for" mentality must apply here somewhat!

I'd like to chime in on this topic, I haul gas for a living(refueler). It all basically comes in from the pipeline as "the same gas".(unless your on the coastline; then probably barged in) However...as mentoined earlier, different terminals or companies "ADD" their own additives to each BRANDED gas. IE; BP,SHELL,EXXON etc. Some claim their additive helps clean the injectors better or removes carbon from internals and such. I guess if you go for the cheaper unbranded stations you save a couple pennies per gallon but dont get the mileage or cleaning advantage. So you should try a few brands to see which works best for your situation. Just remember not to fuel up if their is a tanker dropping fuel, it does stir up any dirt or water that may be at the bottom of tanks. The pumps do have filters ,,, but they dont filter out everything, especially if their is some water in tank! food for thought, just my 2 cents.

Im another shell Vpower user. Ive found I generally get 1-2 mpg better with Shell vs. any other brands. If I was in a bind, Chevron would be my 2nd choice. My car seems to like the Techron additives in Chevron.

One thing I do avoid though is that 10% ethanol crap. Which is why I never use Sunoco or Citgo in my area. They both seem to have 10% ethanol, which I usually get 2-3 mpg lower on. Exxon/Mobil depends, sometimes I see 10% ethanol advertised, and sometimes I dont.
