Demon Bolt Defeated
Took a 2 ft breaker bar and a 6" cheater pipe to break it loose. Tried with my 1000 ft-lbs impact gun but with the swivel and three extensions there was too much angular slop and it popped off and almost stripped it. Had to remove the airbox and disconnect steering linkage. Car has 134k of northern winter (salty) miles. Surprisingly all of the bolts came out. The only thing I had to cut was one of the studs on the flange so that I could get a shallow 14mm socket on it. Demon bolt was smaller than I expected. It's the one with the reddish tint on the threads in the pic below. Took 4 hrs start to finish. I did spray the nuts and bolts with penetrating oil for three days before attempting to remove. Did not resort to heat.
