2010 sedan rear window won’t go up
Hey guys. So this has been a slight issue in the last 6 months but it’s always managed to finally work after a lot of persistance. My rear pass. window goes down on its own randomly and won’t go back up with either the drivers control or the rear passengers control. To combat that, this last time it happened and I finally got it to close, I put the drivers window lock on. Two months go by, I took the window lock off and the window immediately goes down and I can’t get it back up.
I bought a new window switch, unfortunately, it was not the problem.
Anyone have some advice?
Thanks
Zak

Maybe you guys are right. I just never had any issues with the window making noise or moving slow or anything. Plus it’s probably the least used window in the car.
Couple things I’ve noticed. When sitting in the drivers seat and any of the other three windows that are working properly are up and you press the button up, there is a click. I can’t get any clicks to happen on the rear right. However if I press the window lock button from the drivers control panel, there is a click that ONLY comes from the rear right window. Idk. Just weird.
Btw, I have tried all the reset procedures with no results unfortunately. I do believe that this happened relatively soon after a changed battery though.
Thanks for your guys help in advance

It's a surprisingly complicated system with "anti-pinch" and "auto-up" functions all coming into play. The main switch in your driver's door is actually a small processor (black box) which along with the BCM encodes signals to the individual doors. I think even the signals from the door switches themselves don't go directly to their own windows but through this back and forth digital communication and then back to the motors...
If you want to try to decode the system you can read all about it here:

You may want to get to a dealer to plug the car in and help with the diagnosis. Since it's only the one rear window I wouldn't think your BCM is acting up, but it could be that main switch module.

My driver side window has been on the fritz lately as well. It seems to only want to go up and down after many many attempts of pressing the switch but when it does finally comply it works just fine. I have noticed that the window seem to work more often when it is raining or damp outside. I was thinking possibly that the switch was bad but after reading about how the whole system works I am now at a loss for ideas.
