I personally love the sound of my HKS axle back. Tips are a little on the larger side, but they look well especially with a diffuser and spoiler. One of my OEM cans was dented when I purchased the car so I bought my axle back as a way to fix/upgrade the current set up. I've had them on my car for about two years now and still receive compliments weekly on the sound. My plan is to hopefully come across an almost-new set of FI RHFC, or I'll be going with ISR Test pipes in the Spring.
Axle backs are only for looks and sound, but I have yet to see a noticeable gain from a full catback alone. Maybe +5 after a tune, which is hardly noticeable. To me it was about sound, and I found HKS to be the perfect mix between being not too loud inside and out, but better/deeper sounding than stock. If you're cruising you'll hardly hear them over OEM, but if you get on it they'll definitely bring a smile to your face. I Bought mine for right around $400 new, and I'd guess I could get around that if I decided to sell as they rarely get posted.
