Wheel cap/axle thread nut problem

Hey guys I bought esr wheels for my g37x sedan and We're about to mount it and so happened that the axle nut thread pushes the cap of the wheels.

My local auto shop suggested to grind the thread nut or just make a hole on the wheel caps so it can fit. I emailed the esr manufacturer and they said the other option is to run a spacer which im not considering it.
Any suggestion friends?? 😫

If it's only a couple mm that you need I'd consider a small 3mm spacer, shouldn't cause any issues unless your wheels are already too flush for your liking. You may be able to get some generic center cap that is more of a cap rather than sitting that close to the axle nut, but would take quite a bit of searching I'm afraid

I wouldn't feel too good about grinding down that axle shaft, get too close to the cotter pin hole and may make it tough to remove axle nut if & when the time comes.

Were these wheels advertised to fit your application? A cap with a convex rather than flat profile would solve the problem.

Grinding the threaded portion of the axle is not a solution. I'd run from any shop making such suggestions.

Yeah the wheels are already flush and I love how it looked now 😭😓
The rear wheel sits perfect with caps on its just the front wheel doesn't.
i'm just curious if the local infinitu dealer has wheel cap that has almost similar size/diameter ..? currently running 19" wheels.

I would be shocked if any oem Infiniti caps would fit but

You might be able to adapt some type of plastic ring to glue under your ESR caps so they would stick out enough to clear, or start searching the web for another cap, like the ones on my Wedssports that stick out for more clearance.

if you need only 2mm-3mm i would just cut it of, or grind it down.

You need 10mm spacers with the built in hubcentric ring

Should have enough hub flange to get hubcentric fit if you only need a 3mm spacer though. Hopefully that's all he needs

BTW, nice finish on those wheels LunatheG

Here, issue fixed - no need for spacers or trimming the threaded part

Actually Newt that's another option my friend just suggested. We'll try to look around in Lowe's and come up with something. Im just hoping it won't look as cheap specially on these wheels lol 😓😂
but definitely will try to search more on the web
