Blue or Green for G37 Coolant?
So I checked my coolant fluid the other day, and the overflow tank was completely empty which made me a little bit nervous. Anyway, I opened the radiator cap to check the color of the coolant, and it was green. I went to walmart and bought a bottle of Prestone 50/50 mixed and poured it into the overflow tank. Now, I just check the owner manual, and it says say Nissan Coolant (blue) LOL. I don't know if I actually ruined my car or I am fine.
It's a 2012 G37 Sedan with 50k miles, and I bought it used 4 months ago.
Thanks guys.

Flush your system as best you can and..... Get some BLUE! That's what I would do.

"Genuine NISSAN Long Life Antifreeze/ Coolant
or equivalent".
Which based on link posted above is BLUE...

Anti-Freeze Coolant Mixture Ratio
The engine cooling system is filled at the factory with a high-quality,
year-round, anti-freeze coolant solution. The anti-freeze solution
contains rust and corrosion inhibitors. Therefore, additional cooling
system additives are not necessary.
CAUTION:
When adding or replacing coolant, be sure to use only Genuine
NISSAN Long Life Antifreeze/ Coolant or equivalent with the
proper mixture ratio of 50% anti-freeze and 50% demineralized
water/distilled water.
Other types of coolant solutions may damage your cooling system.

I don't think he was questioning the advice, I think he meant to ask is if the green is still alright and since it was already in there maybe he could still get by with it even though its not the blue????????????

Yea, I saw the green coolant inside the radiator cap, that was why I went to bought the 50/50 mixed Prestone. But I guess, I will flush the coolant tomorrow and replace it with the Blue.

If you are not in a rush, you can order online and wait for it and save a couple bucks. Money is still money though . I was in rush, so I went to Nissan dealer and bought a gallon.

Man, I just opened it again this morning, and it was pure green man. So I don't really know what in the world is going with my car bro! Just for the peace in my mind; I went and bought a gallon of Blue and pour it into the overflow tank. I didn't do the flush because I only drove for about 10 miles after I pour the Green coolant in the overflow tank, so I guess it's not going to hurt LOL. Let's see if I would cook my engine .
