Haven't seen it done but you should absolutely do it. Oval or round 40 series? Inlet/ Outlet size?

I was going to say, as long as it isn't round, the drone shouldn't be too bad. I've only seen postings of 44 series on the G37 and G35

Heres the clip:

That's on stock piping so I feel like 2.5 matching piping will do it the justice it deserves.

That sounds good. I have tanabe medallion mufflers now and it sounds good but takes away a little from the lovely VQ sound.

For the Tanabe, If I went that route, I'd get a custom shop to give me 2.5 piping from the cat back. Wakes the car up 10x

I like the Tanabe system as well as others that are out there, but in Alabama, everyone runs the same thing as the next guy.I prefer to be different, plus I had the Flowmasters for another project that I changed direction on.I do thank yall for the input tho,and being new to the IMPORT world with My G,I will need all the advise I can get.

Cannot blame you there. The 40 series will provide a nice deep grumble as well. Please keep us updated. Always nice knowing what alternatives are out there and custom systems are unmarked territory for the most part. If I didn't have to deal with heavy salt during the winter I'd probably be going that route as well in order to have something a bit different.

Hey MetalHead, what were the results of that Flowmaster 40 series? I was thinking about going the same route. I've seen a lot of clips of the G37 with super 44's, but I don't think any with the 40 series. Plus, the muffler shop I went to said the 44 series wouldn't fit (which I don't think is correct) but the 40 will. In any case, I think the 40 series is supposed to be louder and deeper.

What's the verdict on the sound? How was the drone? Thanks!

Believe he's selling them but you can look for them in the FS section and he has a clip posted. Can also check out the video I posted above.

I didn't see them in the FS section, but there is a different guy selling a set of 44's. And the clip you posted was also for the Super 44 Flowmasters. I was wondering specifically about the 40 Series Flowmaster.

In any case, I pulled the trigger on the 40 Series and it sounds bad @$$. It's definitely louder and deeper, but not too much so, which is what I was looking for. It drones around the 1500-2000 rpm range. I know some people can't stand it but it doesn't seem that bad to me. It sounds deep and sporty, not bad for one of Flowmaster's loudest mufflers. Like I said, I don't think it's that bad, and I don't think other people riding in the car will even notice, tbh. Let me know if anyone wants to hear it and I'll get some sound clips/vids.

That exhaust does sound really nice! If I already didn't have an exhaust installed I would definitely do this one! Doesn't sound ricey.
