I wonder how much driving dynamics improve with the RWD model, which I think is supposed to be 150lbs lighter. (300lbs less of people would help too, obviously) I'm a little surprised about the body roll as it was rumored the North America models would get revised (stiffer) suspension. I assume the US and CAD versions will be the same as far as the parts that matter for the driving experience.

Ya the body roll was more than I expected, but by no means was it slow through corners. It's well balanced and provided enough confidence. Compared to the Q60rs AWD that I did the same turn at the same speed, but it was all guess work as to if I was near the limit or not. Another car in the same class I tried on that turn is a IS200t RWD, which was the flattest of the 3, but carried the least amount of speed due to the tires giving out. Had a nice oversteer that also puckered me right up since it was my friend's brand new car

Only real gripes are gas mileage and the level of tech. Going to have to go aftermarket for Bluetooth. I'm hoping the gas mileage is better than the G with a lighter foot. Just gonna cruise. Will be nice to have cooled seats up front and power sunshades for the kid out back. It's always been one of my favorite sedans but I didn't want something that big.
My wife has a '10 with the Sport package (upgraded air suspension, Brembos and tranny from the IS F) and its a great car. Only routine maintenance over the 70K miles that we've had it. She averages around 18.5 mpg. Yes, the tech does leave much to be desired. I would suggest you find one with the Mark Levinson sound system because it's one of the best stock systems that I've heard. One strange thing about the LS460s though is the small amount of rear passenger leg room, but it really isn't too big of a deal for our 7 year old son. My wife had a '07 and she has plans to buy the LS500 in a couple of years.

i'm still waiting for a call to test drive the G70 6MT RWD when it arrives. much lighter, and lower, than the 3.3T AWD, but obviously less hp too. Genesis has really aimed the 6MT trim at driving enthusiasts which is great and they provide all the performance oriented mechanical bits for $45.5k CAD, but they did skimp on some of the luxury items that i would appreciate. different approach than Infiniti who aimed the 6MT sedan at the top end of their trim line.

the 6MT gets a sport exhaust and LSD. my main concern, apart from the new brand/model, is the power from a 2.0T coming from the G37. the test drive will be telling. the 3.3T has ample power, but no 6MT option.

my thoughts on the G70 rear seat room: the headroom is OK, not great, and the shoulder room is also fine for a car in this class. it is not on the larger end of the scale, but not terrible. where the G70 feels unusually cramped is the rear toe room. Genesis built subwoofers in to the front seat bottoms, and most people will have the front seats in a lowered position. this results in very cramped toe room. those with bigger feet may need to turn feet sideways - i did. this is certainly a weak spot if rear seat passengers are a regular occurrence. for kids and very occasional rear seat riders it is passable.

Going back to the ATSV talk...got a ride in a friend's car with intake, downpipe, and tune and this car is a rocket! He told me 540whp. The 8speed auto is so smooth I could barely feel it shifting gears. After looking at prices I think this is the car to upgrade to.

I am also very interested in how the 2.0t compare to the 3.3t and G37. Let us know!

I like the ATS-V, but I'm hesitant for a couple reasons.

First, this is a low volume niche car. Doesn't seem like much forum activity. How reliable is the 3.6TT? Are there any other know issues. It's not like GM has the best reliability history, and a 465 horsepower twin turbo sports car that's seen who knows how many 1/4 mile runs or track days could be a reliability nightmare.

Second, it's great that the car is depreciating to the point that what was a minimum $62K car is going for low 40s 2 years later, this trend isn't going to stop. With a 5 year note, the car wont be worth much by the time it's paid off and 7 years old with 70,000+ miles.

It's still a car that's on my list though.....

Lego, I feel the same way about the Lincoln MKz with their 400hp 3.0 V6 TT, matched to AWD and a uniquely luxurious interior. Old man's car, sure... but damn appealing.

I'd have the same concerns with depreciation--especially a $50,000+ Ford Fusion based Lincoln. You're into Lexus GS350 pricing at that point, if we're talking old man cars

I recognize I'm being extremely picky--RWD/AWD, 6MT, 4doors--and a car that doesn't suffer from as much depreciation as the G37
