Sorry for the rant. But with all this Evo-love... meh.
I agree with you totally Rochester. I think it's a flaw on Mitsubishi's design if one can easily mistake a GTS for an Evo. If you're going to make a car look fast then make sure it can deliver. On the other hand I've always had this great fascination with sleeper cars...may look like a simple clean car but can blow you on a 1/4 mile run. That's what I like about our G's...it's design has just a little bit of edge to it but still looks classy and has enough power to back it up on the road...even stock and no mods. I respect all the people that has this crazy love for the Evo..I just like it for the performance of the car... I think it would be fun to drive.

^^^ This.

The reason I never even entertained the idea of actually getting an EVO or an STI is cuz they costed like $40,000 for what amounted to a very fast Civic. I could never get over the asking prices of those cars.

Agree with all 3 of you. Beyond the raw acceleration and speed of the thing. It just isn't that important to me where I'd be ok with all the other places it lacked. That said, I think the G Sedan hides among the sheep much more than the Coupe. Even in stock form, the coupe looks like it is ready when you are. The sedan on the other hand, is aggressive but still subtle if you aren't educated in what it's capable of. I've had some fun with quite a few Si and GTIs that don't take it seriously at the scissor merge heading home. Nothing beats that look of confusion .

The Evo though would be terrific as a guilty pleasure car but I'd never DD it the distance I do, let alone drop $30-40k on a new one. Unfortunately, I think they'll soon enter the realm of the Eclipse GS and GSX in that you'd be hard pressed to find one that hasn't been molested and dogged its whole life. Never thought I'd feel as bad as I do when I see a terrific little tuner car that's been abused

We traded in my wife's Explorer Sport over the weekend. It marks the shortest period I've owned a car--1 year.

After years of working from home as a consultant, my wife re-entered the corporate workforce, so no more room mom or need to cart 7 around. We were going to exceed our lease mileage by like 20,000 miles, and wifey thought it was too big in rush hour traffic.

So.....we got one of the last 2017 Honda Accords, in V6 Touring configuration.

We're both happy to be back in a car after 7+ years of rolling in 7 passenger SUVs. I'm going to miss the cargo flexibility probably a dozen times a year, and I'm definitely going to miss the Stage 1 twin turbo V6 in the Ex, but 16 mpg on 93 and a 60 mile daily commute was going to be tough on gas.

A Maxima parked next to an Altima looks very different. Every manufacturer strives for a bit of brand recognition so there will be some character lines that are similar. But you might as well say every BMW, Acura, Honda, Toyota, GM, etc. is the same and lazy with their designs. At least Nissan doesn't re-badge their mainstream cars and try to sell them as something entirely different like most Chevy/GMC/Buick suvs and trucks. Now that's lazy.
