Noob question: How do you get the black mesh and the chrome lining piece off from around the fog light? I need to paint the chrome piece black and have done zero lighting work on my car.

It just pops out from the back if you compress the clips with your hand.
Once it's out, you can separate the chrome ring the same way. No tools required.
