r2c black hex filter?

Hey guys I have an 09 g37x coupe with r2c intakes and was looking to upgrade them somehow. I saw these filters and I'm not sure if they are worth the addition. Does it improve performance? Is it worth the buy? Any personal experiences or opinions would be helpful! thanks!

My engine bay is looking dirty and I'm ready to change the filters as well. Hoping someone could chime in on the hex filters and what size to get?

I've got them. After three years with the original R2C filters, when I went to replace them, I shelled out the extra cost for the Black Hex.

They're attractive, and there's bragging rights, maybe. But it's not really a performance mod. No change in intake noise nor butt-dyno response. That doesn't mean they aren't a genuinely better air filter, it just means you shouldn't expect to know any different.

Depends on your perspective. I think it's more accurate to say it's really only for marketing purposes. I suspect they're a genuine upgrade over the basic R2C filter, but there's no way you would know that by driving the car.

They do look nice. Here's a pic... ignore the red P2M clamp. I was just experimenting, and ended up with black.

Damn that looks dope. How much did you pay for those? I found them for 105 on a website but not sure if that's a good price for them. That clamp looks pretty nice too

$140 shipped, in October 2015, direct from R2C.

The clamps are made by Phase2Motortrend. Red doesn't look right in my engine bay.

I bought mine from Import Parts Pro for $100 shipped a month ago. Excellent service from Kyle..air filters are cool and I felt like I heard a little bit more air, but like Rochester said, it's barely noticeable if any. I do feel like the are the best drop in filters though, which is why I got them

The clamps most definitely look better in black. Here's a pic without the FSTB, catching a little bit of the Black Hex filter in the shot.

Thanks I looked at the Hex Filter list sand there were so many sizes. Wasn't sure which specific hex filter would bit my existing R2C system..
