'13 G37 Belt Squeal/Squeak during cold start (Help)

'13 G37 Belt Squeal/Squeak during cold start (Help)

Hows it going everyone, I started experiencing a squeaking noise on cold starts, especially now with the weather in the 20s in the morning. It doesnt stop/change when I turn on/off the AC. Any ideas of what it could be? Belt seems like it is in good shape but the car has 60k and I dont know if it has been changed before or not. I have not done the water test yet.

Sounds more like a bearing noise of some sort than belt. At 60K belt/tensioner should of been replaced at least once.

Thanks for the reply, the noise only appears when it sreally cold out. Yesterday it jumped to 60 degrees and the sound was not present, hmm

Thanks for the reply, you are probably right, the belt from what i see looks pretty new, no cracks or anything, but the sound only appears when it is cold out, i might take it to the mechanic next week and get it checked

Same thing happens to me- I noticed that my belt squeaks when it's cold and/or wet. When it's both, the car sounds like a stampede of mice running through the streets.

jeez, yea its fairly annoying, even in the cold though after my car warms up its only noticeable with the hood open, have you ever gotten yours checked by a mechanic?

It hasn't bothered me that much until last week when my car was sitting in the snow while I was overseas. I'll probably replace the belt in the spring since I'm starting to see some wear marks down the middle.

Mine would do this in cold weather or on the first start after a long time sitting cold.
1st trip to dealership they replaced pully-crankshaft, beltfan, seal-oil, crankshaft front and this helped the problem but didn't fully resolve.
2nd trip to dealership they changed the pully assembly idler and my problem went away.
It def took some time for Infiniti to get this resolved for my car.
