It's better to have it and not use it, then need it and not have it. Just a few issues will add up way over the price of your warranty, so I'd say go for it.
The major selling point was coverage for the electronics and navigation. I already used my warranty but the repair would have been covered under the original factory warranty for a wheel bearing. If you have the navigation package then I'd say its good insurance...otherwise, I'd think twice if it is already under a certified warranty. My main beef is that I paid extra for the car since it was certified then paid for the elite warranty. Basically the being certified was just for piece of mind...but I've been to two dealers now and I feel they take care of their customers and I will never need to worry for 4+ more years. I tend to keep my cars long too.

Bought my car new in 2011. Sunroof drains replaced last month, carpet pulled to get the water out of the passenger footwell. Cost me $2,200 and the tech kindly gouged the paint on the door jambs and plastic surrounds when removing the seats. Happened just as I was preparing for a trip. Dealer knows I'm coming back to have this addressed. The A/C quit, too. Their quick-fix of evacuate and refill didn't completely fix the problem.

Up until this last visit, I was satisfied with my dealer's service. Now, an extended warranty looks like it would have paid itself back.

I have an Elite warranty and had a sensor go at 22K miles. It would have cost me $2500 to fix, but the warranty took care of it. Also I had a seat issue, and while it took quite a bit of complaining, after 4 visits, Infiniti said OK. It would have set me back $4000! So, I'm happy. I have a 2012 G37x.

I bought the extended warranty but haven't hit four years yet on my 2013...however so far they have fixed a bad front wheel bearing, power steering reservoir, Replaced front windshield, replaced battery and even replaced interior door trim all free of charge.

Hate to think this car has lots of problems, but they have stood behind all problems with the vehicle so far. However, they ALWAYS mention any aftermarket upgrade I have done like somehow it will be the source of a future problem...every time I go in they say my Hotchkiss sway bars squeak and recently that my rear tires are too big (275/35). I reminded them that the rear tires are actually the same height if not a tad lower than the OEM tires.

Be warned, they will do their best to criticize anything you do to make the car better than stock But I love the sway bars and fat tires in the rear...

What sensor was it, and what issue with your seat did you have?

Why did you need a new engine? How many miles?

So far my extended warranties seem to be paying off. I bought a tire and wheel warranty a little over a week ago and late this week I got a flat tire.

My comprehensive warranty had its 1st claim yesterday from a CE light that turned out to be a MAF sensor. At least, I hope that is all it is. I have had that warranty just over a month.

P0101 I believe- it is for the driver's side MAF sensor. I was just hoping that was all that it was.

I got the extended warranty on mine a year ago, and this past week I used it for the first time. They replaced my transmission mount and rear subframe and did the alignment and it all cost me nothing. It already paid itself off. My car is a 2013 6MT with 50K on it.

Long story have a thread on here but a lot of overheating issues at idle when temps in AZ over 110. Unfortunately this summer still occurred and no resolution but I did get a new engine for that issue last year

Wow! I am surprised they didn't try a bigger fan or radiator.
