Lost keys and car is locked

2015 Q40. Lost all my keys... apartment, both car FOBs, work keys everything . Any way of opening and programming a new key without towing car to the stealership and paying 380 plus tax?

No. The only way to reprogram a key is by getting the code from inside the locking cylinder inside the driver side door and having the reprogram a new key.

Im sure there are gray market key programmers but....yeah, thats a bit sticky.

GL finding those keys. If there is a lesson, i guess its dont keep both keys on the same ring...

I assume it's locked in your glovebox, but sometimes dealers will cut you a key if you can provide proof of ownership.

You might want to try a locksmith who works with automotive applications. Not PopALock etc,, a real deal licensed locksmith who has the tools and knowledge to program your car.

99% sure you'll have to go to the dealership. Unless you want to wait and buy to fobs for cheap online... Wait till they ship to you... then pay a dealer to program them. Honestly you're better off just towing it there and taking the hit. So sorry to hear this happened. It's never fun to lose your car keys let alone all your keys.

How's the dealer going to program the fobs without the car?

As I stated, a trip to the dealership is not necessary. There are locksmiths who do this type of work every day. Not all locksmiths, but some of them have the equipment to program it.

He doesn't have to have the car towed to the dealership. But it's still not going to be cheap.

I meant thay buying the key fobs online might be cheaper then purchasing them straight from the dealership. Either route he chooses is going to be a costly one unfortunately. Best of luck OP. Let us know what happens and what you end up doing.

Sorry for late reply, life been handing me one problem followed by another. When I bought the car, they only had one key. I ended up finding the keys a few days later. Mother in law had them in her purse.... go figure

Glad you solved the problem. Even though the car was parked the entire time, but the bright side is you saved some miles and money.

Time for a new fob with key for a backup unit. Of course, this is proof that Mother in laws can do more harm than just cause cancer! Just saying......

^^ haha.. I leave one at my house at all times. When I bought mine QPO they included key replacement in the warranty, I actually have it in writing that says lost or stolen keys are replaced and programmed for a $100 deductible. So awesome.
