Yeah, I amortize the expense, in fact, I accrue $100 a month in my sock drawer for tires

Boom.
I have a buddy with a nice 370z that will ONLY put Michelins on it. I love the look and the drive but I just put 20k on my car in a 12 month period. I can't justify the cost for that level of tire and have to replace them every 8 months.

I'm looking for a nice balance. I don't have an "S", I was able to locate some nice 20x9 squared wheels. So I can at least rotate front to rear for better wear. I need a decently sticky tire that has some reasonable tread wear and a reasonable price point. Any ideas?

The other thing is if the Contis wear slower that monthly cost goes down further

I'm still not quite sold on PSSs. Lego we need to meet up so you can see how fun a little wheelspin can be And even with that I don't think my DWS06s will be toast in a year.

For a square setup on a daily driver w/o track days... I suspect just about any summer-only, high-performance tire would be fine, as long as you rotate often. TireRack has a wealth of info and options for research.

Good point. Do they?

If I were to compare my rear tires, one brand against the other, at 275/35ZR19...
  • They both weigh the same, at 27 lbs.
  • The PS4 have 1/10" more tread width.
  • The Contis have 1/64" more tread depth. Yes, a whole 1/64"... LOL
  • The Contis are a $145 combined savings, for just these two rear tires.

Continental claims a 15,000 warranty, just like Michelin.

I think you said you drive like 20K a year, in which case, PSS would be a pricey proposition.

Wheelspin is fun and all, but I made a sweeping right on green from a behind an M4 the other day and we both rolled on the throttle. I spun in second, he didn't, and a M4 packs a lot more power that me. I prefer traction to wheelspin

^^that is the P4S, PSS is the older tire and runs a bit cheaper.

PSS is $36 more expensive, or $73 for a pair.

Today, I got some new rear tires mounted after a nail puncture (and they were at 5/32 anyways). I went with Conti DWS 06, and I'm kinda having buyer's remorse since it will start to warm up soon here in GA. I wanted to get PSS's, but the price difference plus a four-day order time steered me this way. We'll see.

Since Christmas, I've down a few other small things: new front and rear brake pads, window tint, roof spoiler from the group buy in here, DD Tail-as-Turn, and Greddy magnetic oil drain plug. Like I said, small things lol.

You couldn't locate the Conti Extreme Contact Sports?

I do not sadly. It's just brighter, and for $9, your really can't go wrong.

Wheel Chocks

Finally bought some wheel chocks. Did some internet comparison shopping, and selected Race Ramps. They're made of super hard, thick rubber. Very impressive.
