It was kind of like an "F-it" Christmas present lol, I really enjoy them and wanted the brackets. Just trying to experiment with parts in order to share knowledge

Keep the res ditch the mufflers. Add resonated X pipe after y. All the good noises and none of the rasp and drone. Motordyne nailed it in those areas not sure why more folks dont follow suit

The x-pipe really helps. I have very minimal rasp, almost none with ART pipes and custom exhaust with a res X after the Y pipe. Without the ART pipes there was absolutely zero rasp but less power.

Added an aftermarket Y-pipe to the TopSpeed Y back; completely replacing the stock exhaust from the cats back.

Thanks!

Not yet. Resonated test pipes are sitting in the office. Haven't found the time to get them in yet.

Has anyone here ran both a Motordyne E370 on their car with both stock cats and aftermarket cats? I'm asking because I'm in California and they just passed a new exhaust law which pretty much results in a $1000 fine and even a state ref if the officer feels likes it. To avoid this, I plan to remove my Z1 HFC and maybe even my E370, but I'm trying to figure out if the E370 with stock cats is quiet when just cruising and not under WOT. According to the law, anything above 95 DB is illegal and qualified for being cited.

I never ran my E370 with stock cats so I can't compare. Anyone who can chime in, greatly appreciated.

its quieter some. Stock cats just tone it down and take the edge off. Its still noticeable. Cold start is less aggressive but the bark is still there. You could go oem cats and add some resonators somewhere

Hmm, alright. I plan to remove my Z1 HFCs and put on the OEM cats again due to smog this year as well as the new law. But I'm debating about the exhaust. I probably won't add any resonators to the exhaust as I would like to sell it eventually and I'm sure adding resonators would cut the value.

My main concern is taking off from a stop. The motordyne doesn't seem to drone when cruising too bad (I've passed CHP / cops before on the freeway and they don't pay attention), but when I accelerate or press on the gas is when it changes. If I can get it to be semi quiet from taking off from a stop, I should be fine. I would be pretty bummed if I had to get rid of the MD, but it beats getting a $1000 ticket.

I guess I'll find out when I replace the cats. I'll be selling a pair of Z1 HFC 200 cell soon!

Thanks for the feedback.

Talking Custom H Pipe

Custom H Pipe, Z1 HFC, HKS Hi Power Axle Back.
Cat Back is all 2" pipe.

First start with h pipe last night. Louder than expected. Cold start in a garage.

Later last night revving in a parking lot. Neutral revs 3500-4500

And then this morning's very very cold start.

She's more than a bit raspy but I gotta be honest I'm loving it for now. Resonators will probably go in soon though.
