Just to chime in OP, I am in the same boat with my sedan. I currently have aFe drop in filters right now. I am thinking of going to R2C Black Nickel finish with the Black Hex filters. (Thanks Rochester, they need to pay you for advertising their product so well!)
I owned an R2C intake before and they sound great (main reason I am getting an intake) I miss the sound. The compromise of some intakes as I have had long tube and short-ram previously is the long tubes you'll see the power-band shift so you may lose some low end peppiness to your car if you do a lot of stop-and-go traffic. That was my main reason to switch back to an SRI. R2C was my happy spot with my old Maxima.
At the end of the day it's to each his own but I thought I'd throw in my experiences as a daily driver that doesn't plan on tracking his car or worried about dyno numbers. Just have fun

Adding them won't make any difference on CEL whatsoever. There is no relationship between one or the other.
It's been my second-hand research (and my personal experience) that FI cats simply don't register out-of-range on the O2 sensors. Part of that has to do with the J-shaped design of their connector. Another is that FI uses a catalytic converter with a 300 cell-count, opposed to the more typical 200 cell-count found in other high-flow cats. In other words, there's more surface area for catalyst to do its job.
By that, you could argue that they are *less* high-flow than other manufacturers, and I suppose that's fair. Similarly, all high-flow cats are *less* high-flow than test-pipes. However, *all* HFC's are also less restrictive than the OEM parts, and there's a point of diminishing return here, where personal choices come into play. Personally, I think FI cats are the perfect compromise between OEM cats and test-pipes, while at the same time being a very high quality build for cats that actually function the way catalytic converters are intended.
The only flaw in FI cats is the lack of support for the retaining bracket. The absence of this connecting bracket creates a noticeable vibration at idle. This is more noticeable on the 6MT, because the engine isn't engaged with the transmission at idle, but it's there nonetheless.

Today, i'm 99% sure I will be ordering the FI RHFC. Questions; if I order the two extra bongs, should I have something connected to them right away. Or can the stay as is until needed. My concern is will air leak of of them if nothing is attached to them.

My saga continues, made the decision few weeks ago to purchase Gen 3 intake. It finally arrived this week and will be installed on Monday.

I got and installed the FI RHFC, with out the 2 extra bungs a couple of months ago (which are great). Tomorrow morning I will be installing the Stillen Gen 3 CAI.
