Examining the sport wheels on my wife's G, I don't think they're painted. It looks like Enkei (the OEM supplier) uses an electroplated finish on the surface of these alloy wheels.
I would be interested as well, except that I suck at touching up nicks. No matter how hard I try, the touchup always stands out more than the nick itself. I think you just need to avoid using a brush and try applying microscopic amounts of paint in stages, into the nick directly with something like a toothpick.
What do the pros use? Those guys that help the dealers create CPO vehicles from lease returns? They charge like $130 a wheel, but it looks like new when they are done.
Does this ford touch up paint match well? Has anybody tried it?
Tried it. Match is pretty decent. Trick is to fill chips a little at a time and build it up, still not done. Here are pics of my wheel, it only has a few chips.
