The meet-up idea was originally Choman's, and I was going to meet him in Ithica, NY (Cornell University), where anyone else was welcome to join. But once more people showed interest, and then Chris from Tennessee and Kirk from Kentucky, we started looking for a location that was slightly more fair to the people involved.
BTW, I asked Newt to kindly adjust the thread title because of all the regional literalists here at issue with the phrase "northeast". Silly people.
True. (Title change.) You want to come? I've never seen a LE before.
According to the Internet, which we all know is never wrong, Maryland is part of the North East, Although Im with the M*******, a little further north would be easier to get to, NY is a bitch to get though. although I can't make it in April, lots of personal things going on, maybe we can have a NE/NY meet up in the summer

I was thinking, if we have over a dozen members at this meet-up, wouldn't it be nice to have a Spec Sheet on the window? In that context, what do you guys think of this (below).
I have this available as a WORD Document, if you want to customize it for your own Specs. Right-click and download.

That would depend on the location for the meet-up. So far, the best I can figure out is the Frances Slocum State Park, which is a little closer to Wilkes-Barre than Scranton. Given the location, the nearest Hotel & Restaurant is "The Beaumont Inn", which is less than 8 miles away from the Park. From the website, it looks kind of quaint, with no-frills, reasonably priced rooms, and a very appealing dinner menu. Only 10 rooms, and only 1 room at $99, so if more than half a dozen people need accommodations, this might not be the place. Dinner sure seems great, though.
The Beaumont Inn | Dallas, PA
Of course, once you drive South of the Susquehanna River into Wilkes-Barre, you have your choice of a half-dozen cookie cutter hotels (Best Western, Holiday Inn, etc.), as well as cheap restaurants. Like any small town, there's a mix of crappy accommodations and a few upscale facilities. But I'm kind of liking this "Beaumont Inn". It seems like a pretty charming Bed & Breakfast. I really like B&B's.
But like I said... there's also Applebee's and Best Western.

You guys want ribs and beer instead of filet and pinot? There's a place called "Smokey Bones Bar & Grille", with what looks like ample overflow parking into LOWES across the street. Go ahead and Google Earth "265 Mundy Street Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702"
Smokey Bones - Home
As far as cheap hotels go, the cheapest would be the Days Inn, under $60/nite. It's less than a mile from that Smokey Bones restaurant, just on the otherside of the Wyoming Valley Mall. But hey, you can use Googlemaps and TripAdvisor.com just as easily as I can.
