I actually used to live in Crystal Lake, so I'm familiar with Chicago area weather, but -16° is really cold even for Chi town. My Sister lives Indy and keeps asking when she can come out and visit again. LOL

If you're going to visit Phoenix now is definitely the time. I made the mistake of going there in July one year for my Anniversary and it was brutally hot!

Ran into something similar just a few years ago in the G. This too was around early june. Didn't hit snow this time but upper 30's and sleet on I70, again with summer tires! Those higher elevations do not follow standard season conventions (at least as they're defined to us midwesterners).

Won’t get into my hobbies that are being crushed there. Sometimes it hurts to see such a great place pissed away, then I look at what I have elsewhere and smile.
for the brake discussion.. I have two sealed cans of superblue waiting for the brake caliper and line swap when I get around to it.

I've been there quite a bit, as Travis AFB was enroute to most anywhere in the Pacific. Spent some fun time in San Francisco, Sac, and LA. But its like New York - fun place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there. Same with Tokyo, although I love Japan dearly, I wouldn't want to live in Tokyo, especially after spending a year in the south of Honshu.
I think I have 1 can of superblue left. Although I disagree with the politics, I understand why they stopped making it. They should make a vial of brake-fluid-miscible dye available as an offroad supplement though - the super and superblue alternation was genius.

I've never been to the west coast, except for a stop-over on the way to Alaska, 20 years ago. Always felt I could fall in love with the PNW, really based on nothing whatsoever.
In that same theme, next month the wife and I are going to vacation in Vermont, and check out Burlington as a potential pre-retirement destination. We're going to take the Subaru, so that we blend in with the natives, LOL.

I grew up in the Bay Area, and lived just outside of Tokyo for three awesome years. Europe South America, Africa, and the Middle East for a while, and each has merit.
Sadly im a born cynic and studied geography, so I find fault with damn near everywhere I land.... some are just worse than others.

Hey, can anyone point me to the thread for max tire sizes on the OEM sedan S wheels? I've expended my google fu and just found stuff for the oem 19s or aftermarket. Don't want to threadjack (more than I already have) so please PM.

One more post for me on the topic of weather since it's not too G related: From a low of negative -26 here in Milwaukee, to 50 on Monday (it's mid 40's right now). That's a 76 degree temperature difference in only a few days.
