I had an Audi S4 fly by me yesterday on a two-lane highway who had to be going well over 100 mph, while I was just puttering along with 60 mph traffic in my G. Scared the living crap out of me. I didn't see him coming until he flashed by my left side in a fraction of a second, and I didn't just watch this happen, I *felt* it happen. Now I'm no stranger to occasional high-speed, but never ever ever when there are other cars around. About a mile later, there he was sitting at the light on the off-ramp. Clueless. Dangerous. Stupid.

Not that I want to turn this chat thread into an area for old-man grievance, but dam-m-m-n.

On a hwy from Oakland to Sacramento (granted it was at least 3 lanes wide on each side) a red Ferrari blew by everyone going at least 150, and don't get me started about crotch rockets

Wow. And you're right about crotch rockets. That's not an uncommon event with motorcycles.

You know, I suspect Europeans who drive the Autoban would roll their eyes at these pearl-clutching comments. Hmm.

My daughter and I are fine, but the woman who hit us was a wreck. She was so freakin sad, and just beat up by life. It was kind of heartbreaking.
Wow. Sorry to hear that, John. Especially sucks since it's a relatively new vehicle too. Glad you and your daughter are ok though... In the end that's really all that matters.

On a brighter note... Congrats on the new Moderator status!

Thanks. Me, Hasim and Jsolo. Kind of floundering around, looking for things to do. But honestly, this forum is relatively drama-free.

Now, if I were a mod five years ago, and Lego were on one of his late nite drunken rants... LOL. jk jk

You'd make a fantastic moderator, although something tells me you're going to be moving on to another car in 2019.

Can anyone comment on the FUEL WARNING LIGHT??? It counts down the number of KMs left before the tank is empty, but it's an obvious lie or exaggeration because I ran it down to "Approx 2 km left", filled up to max at the gas station and only 67L was filled, when the gas tank is 75L. So if 8L was already in the tank, that's roughly +80KM of mileage left, not the "Approx 2 km" the UI was telling me. I understand the safety reasons, but just wanted to make sure it was the same for everyone else. When I do the math for this time's mileage, I am getting 580KM a full tank. Good or bad???

If a VLED "v3 triton" bulb is bright white but blinks a really dim amber, that's a bulb issue, right? Not connections or wiring?

Been like 2 yrs since they were installed, but every seems to look right.

More bulb questions... I've been feeling lately that my headlights are weak. 7 years, 40k miles original bulbs.

Anyone want to make a recommendation?

OSRAM CBI. I havent looked back since. Much better output than the oem Phillips bulbs. You can get the nightbreakers if you live in an area with unlit roads or just want to go super bright. They're amazing bulbs.

Need some advice on Interior

So I have a g37 sedan and the silver trim with the black interior is getting old. I want to change it to a nice glass black. Also feel like it would make it look more modern. Wrapping it would not be in my price range so i’m thinking about just painting it. How do you guys feel the black on black would look/ would anyone want to see this done?

How so? A DIY wrap is $25 - $50

The paint, booth, and tools alone would exceed that price.

Yes the wrap is $25-$50 if i wanted to do it myself but i’ve never wrapped anything yet so I feel like i’d have to keep buying more if I do it myself and keep messing up. Also for someone else to wrap it it would cost more. I would paint it gloss black with spray cans which would only cost me around 5$ because i already have masking tape, sand paper, and other things at home.

Problem with painting the trim is that a lot of it gets touched. Continuous rubbing from you or passengers will wear through it quickly.

I'm going to go mirror black on mine as soon as I find some vinyl in person that I like - don't want to order a 'maybe'. Grabbed extra trim out of a salvage yard car so I don't mess up my own. Give me a month or so and I should be maybe doing this over our Christmas holiday, and will take pics and do a writeup.
