Do most people w/ the super charger kits rebuild the engine or change compression first? Just curious.

Anyone whose running this ground kit (or something similar) believe what it claims it does? If you have a 7AT like me, I'll do anything to get faster, more reactive shifts.

The extra grounding cables definitely helped me, especially when shifting with the paddle shifters. If you've got an AT then I'd have to say they are a worthwhile mod.

I made my own, when playing audio through USB it seems a tiny bit more crisp, could be placebo. I noticed when playing audio via bluetooth, with the throttle bodies grounded, there is no more sound skipping that sometimes happened during hard acceleration. The thing that stillen doesn't give you in their kit is a wire for your throttle bodies. I can definitely say that throttle response 'feels' a bit better with those wires. As far as shifting goes, the TCM software update did more than the grounding kit, and it was very minor. Its hard to say if it helps at all. Looks nice though lol. I removed my kit, and only kept the throttle body cables, only grounding cables that felt like they made a difference, ironically, the only grounding cables not included in stillens kit.
Very good point, Andy. The throttle body cables seem to be the most important cables for improved throttle response and shifting. Hadn't realized the Stillen kit doesn't come with these. I got my kit from BlackBetty on this forum.

Does anyone know the difference between the two options for illuminated door sills?
G6950JK600
or
G69501NM0A
The 1NM0A are much cheaper, so i'm guessing there is something different about them? I can;t find anywhere that the descriptions are different. 2011 xS Sedan.

This is a fairly loaded question when stated in such general terms. I think this will partly be determined by what amount of boost you plan on running, what you power goals are, and what kind of budget you have. Also the condition of the engine at the time of the install may also be a factor. My GTM Stage 2 SC with no internal modifications has performed flawlessly for almost 50K miles running at just 9 psi.

Not sure about the specific differences, but part # G69501NM0A is listed for 2007 - 2010 model years and part # G6950JK600 are listed for 2011+ model years. I'm guessing this probably has more to do with the wiring than anything else since these are basically "plug'n'play'.
I installed part number G69501NM0A on my 2008 and it was pretty much designed to plug right into the factory wiring.

This is where my confusion lies...they both state MY2010,2011,etc. and list all years for the sedan on the updated body, 08+. I can't imagine there is a massive difference, then again I ordered the wrong splash shields cause I was trying to save a buck . They aren't worth 300 to me, so I guess i'll wait to see if the price drops. Thanks for the help!
Infiniti Parts shows that part # G6950-1NM0A is for MY2007 - MY2010, but I'm not sure why there would be a difference? See below.

It's possible that they simply changed suppliers in 2011 (but with no physical changes to parts) so they changed the part number as well. I noticed that this happened when I was buying a replacement seat control module for my car. I found a used one that ended in that same JK600, which didn't match the part number of the one out of my car, but it said it would work for my car and looked physically identical, so I took a chance and bought it (it was only $15). And it ended up working perfectly.

A lot of times manufacturers might have to change a wire harness to keep up with safety regulations. Sometimes manufacturers will change a wire harness because they found a way to save a few cents by shortening some of the excess wires. Sometimes connections have to be changed due to issues during the manufacturing process, during assembly, or due to feedback from dealerships due to customer complaints or issues technicians are having during install but will not require a recall to fix, but can be changed at anytime during the life of any model. Or sometimes it's as simple as changing suppliers. There can be many different reasons. But the best way to find out which one will work for you would be to contact your dealership and supply them with your VIN.
I have to deal with these changes on a daily basis. Sometimes without warning changes are made mid model year. For instance, when the IIHS came out with the offset frontal impact safety rating in 2014 the Camry didn't have a 5 star rating anymore. So over the course of a month engineers worked with body weld and assembly to come up with a crash bracket to strengthen the rigidity of the drivers side of the frame right next to the engine. As soon as they tested the new crash bracket out and found out that it would bring us back to a 5 star rating and meet or exceed the IIHS's tests it was implemented in July of 2014 or MY14.5 (which was the last few months of that body style) and has been on the Camry since. The new MY18 Camry will have it built in.
Kind of long winded, so I apologize, but I find this stuff fascinating, probably because it's part of my job.

I work in the automotive manufacturing industry and might be able to shed some light as to why there are two part numbers for something that should be a universal fit across the V36 platform.

So i have the Gtr style bluebat overlays and i have gone to five different tint places in my area. All of them have said they can not install them, so should i try to do it myself? How hard are they to install?
